Freights Bay
|
Freights Bay is one of the top surf spots on the south coast. There is no lifeguard on duty and no amenities selling food or drink. There are no toilets and no showers. You must be able bodied to get down the stairs to the beach.
On days when the surf isn't up, it is quite secluded and so ideal for a romantic picnic.
It is safe to swim here, but remember the currents can change and hence give rip-curling waves!
Features
• Top surf spot
• Good picnic spot
Driving Directions
From Oistins heading away from Bridgetown, the road comes to a fork, take the right turn and then turn right again. With the ocean in front of you, you need to turn left and continue on this road until you come to a clearing, where you will see Cotton Beach Apartments on your left, park opposite Searocks Road. Next to the house on the cliff is a gate, which has stairs down to the beach.
View the location of the beach on our Barbados Interactive Map.
