Sandy Beach is one of the nicest beaches in Barbados, not only is it stunning to look at, but it seems to have a lovely atmosphere about it. The beach used to stretch for miles, but the sea has in recent years claimed a lot of the beach back. However this moves in cycles and we can now look forward to a very Sandy Beach in future years. The beach's official name is Worthing Beach but is known to everyone as Sandy Beach.
Things to Do
With so much sand, there is always plenty of room, even on Sunday's when the beach bar Crystal Waters has a beach BBQ and rum punch party, which is a hit with both locals and visitors.
The sea here is like a bath; there is a shallow reef, which makes the sea more of a pond. Many people come here to learn to windsurf, as it is ideal for teaching.
You can rent beach chairs for $7BDS per day and umbrellas for $10BDS per day.
There are plenty of trees for shade, and there is a beach volleyball net which gets quite a lot of use.
There are toilets, showers, picnic tables, vendors selling beach wear and two beach bars open all day for refreshments and food.
While in Barbados, a day on Sandy Beach is a MUST.
