Gibbs Beach is located on the west coast of Barbados, in the parish of St. Peter. The west coast is also known as the gold coast and is lined with grand vacation homes and condos, surrounded by lush greenery and colourful local flora.

Things to Do

At Gibbs Beach you will sometimes find water sports operators offering water skiing and jet ski rides.

It’s also a favourite stop for local boaters on weekends or public holidays as the water is calm and sparkling.

The beach provides a fabulous place to take long, relaxing walks.

The landscape offers views of some of the most beautiful homes on the island plus exquisite yachts and arguably one of the best strips of coastline in the world.

Gibbs Beach does not have many amenities such as a bar, toilets etc… but these are available at the neighouring Mullins Beach.

However what Gibbs Beach lacks in amenities it makes up for it with its serene surroundings – it is much quieter than Mullins Bay.

Driving Directions

Driving away from Bridgetown up the Spring Garden Highway, turn left at the Frank Worrell roundabout onto Walmer Lodge.

You will see an Esso station on your left. Follow the coast road up the beautiful gold coast of our island.

Drive through Holetown, and continue up the Coast Road for approximately another 10 minutes.

You will see a sign that tells you that you have entered the parish of St. Peter.

Gibbs beach is approximately 100 metres after the sign; however, you cannot see the beach directly from the road.

Take the right turn which is signposted to the Shell Gallery and almost immediately on your right is an empty lot that can be used for parking.

To go on to the beach, cross the road and turn right. You will very quickly see a gap, which is sometimes used by vehicles to reach the beach, next to a house called South Winds.

You will see the beach at the end!

View the location of the beach on our Barbados Map.
