Sandy Lane Beach is located on the west coast of the island, in the parish of St. James.
When you reach the beach turn right and keep walking until you see the famous blue umbrellas of the renowned Sandy Lane Hotel. Sandy Lane is one of the most famous hotels in Barbados because of its luxurious fixtures and fittings. It is the ultimate in luxury and is where the rich and famous go to relax. All beaches are public in Barbados; therefore don't be surprised in you find yourself swimming with Mel Gibson!

The sea here is exquisite and calm, you can just float, close your eyes and drift away, it is no wonder the rich and famous choose this as their spot to unwind. Beach chairs are available for Sandy Lane residents, and there are also beach chairs to rent from a beach vendor if you are just a day visitor. Chairs and umbrellas are available for $10BDS each. There are water sports operators working from this beach offering Jet Ski's for $100BDS per 30 mins.
The Sandy Lane Resort operates a beach bar, which non-residents may use, and despite the hotel's 5 star status a cold beer will only set you back $15BDS.

Driving Directions
From Bridgetown head towards the Harbour along Prince Alice Highway, going past the Pelican Craft Centre, turn right and follow road until you reach the Elsie Payne roundabout, turn right here, then at traffic lights turn left on to the Spring Garden Highway, at the Frank Worrell roundabout turn right onto Walmer Lodge, you will see an Esso station on your right, pass the entrance to Batts Rock Beach. Follow road until you pass through Fitts Village, then you will see another Esso station on your right, Paynes Bay is on your left and then you will see the high walled parimeter of Sandy Lane Hotel, park here on the main road and follow the blue sign for public beach access.
