Barbados Karting: Round 7 of the Frutee Karting Championship

This Sunday 10th September at Bushy Park, the Barbados Karting Association Inc. will be hosting Round 7 of the Frutee Karting Championship. This event is sponsored by Pro Auto and it follows an intense international race meeting held at the same Bushy Park racing circuit the weekend before. Qualifying is scheduled for 9am and the day should provide the usual close racing in the three classes contested, those being:

- Junior Sportsman Class
- Yamaha Primer class - Sponsored by Stay Products
- 125cc Shifters Class

In recent years, spectators have seen a great deal of action in both the Junior and the Championship class. Sunday's event should be no different! Overall, there should be between 12 and 15 competitors.

Karting is really the 'entry-level' gateway to motorsport and this form of the sport has bred many of the world's great drivers. These include Formula 1 superstars such as Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Raikonnen and Alonso, as well as many of the current NASCAR and IRL stars. For many Barbadian racing stalwarts, past and present, Karting has also been their proving ground. Karting in Barbados has also become a great family sport and a good way to spend time together. The atmosphere is very upbeat and friendly and spectators always have fun.

Admission is free and everyone is invited to come and support the Barbados racing stars of the future!
