Catherine Forter Chee-a-Tow Statement of the exhibition 2006:
"I guess this exhibition is about Caribbean people! I love painting Caribbean people, especially women. They offer such profound diversity, they are so decorative...their hats, hair, jewellery, ribbons and fabrics, nuances of the skin. I like to capture an attitude revealing their essence. I always search for people's rhythms and movements. This is why I very often paint gatherings of people at Church, Markets, Dancing....To me, gatherings express strength, unity and spirituality. My interpretation is very personal and my characters imaginary. It is only an artist's impression but at the same time, I know that wherever these paintings will live, they will carry with them a Caribbean feel!!!"

Artists Club meeting will take place on Tuesday Nov 14th, from 6.30pm onward, at Lancaster Great House. Andrew Hulsmeier, well know photographer and cinematographer will be hosting an evening talking about his work and giving away his techniques on lighting and film. As usual all contributions towards our 'potluck' Bar and Buffet are welcomed. Non members will be charged a $10 visiting fee towards expenses.

Charity Christmas Cards by artist Margaret Rodriguez. 17 designs which may be seen at http://www.corriescott.com/helpsavethebabies Donating at least 50% of the profits from the sale of note cards to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the QEH. Through fund raising efforts last year were able to purchase two new ventilators for the unit. These note cards are left blank inside so you can write your own special holiday message.
