International Lecture Series

An eight lecture series to be held at Sherbourne Conference Centre with speakers Prof. Keith Sandiford, Prof. Orlando Patterson, Prof. Hilary Beckles, Prof. Frank Birbalsingh, Rev. Wes Hall, Richie Benaud, Tony Major and Michael Holding. 

The series will reflect on the emancipatory force of cricket, looking at such  themes as race and class in cricket. West Indies cricket and the Caribbean personality. 

Australian nationalism and cricket 'down under', WI cricket as a major lever of social mobility; the democratization of English cricket; cricket and the social advancement of Indo West Indians; and the projected impact of 20/20 cricket on the future of  the game.
