Jazz music is a wonderful thing and for some it can be confusing, Why? Because it is all about expression. We live in a world where it is a shame to fully express ourself and because of this fear steps in. James Lovell is the true representation of Jazz Fusion in the Caribbean without fear. He full expresses himself and that's what gives him the cutting edge. His performance was about musical and cultural education in Barbados, his home land. He also talked about the many progressive musicians and their contribution to the development of music in the Caribbean. Not to mention his extraordinary Drum Kit which allowed him to stand and play. This innovative set up give him a space to move around and be up close and personal with his audience. I learnt something new about myself and my culture.
Thanks James Lovell
From Janelle Headly's smooth jazz to James Lovell rocking Jazz Fusion, it was a great show.

Janelle Headly was lovely, her voice was exceptional and the backing band...simply grooving!!! I especially loved her song “Happy”.
However, James Lovell's set seemed a little haphazard. His band seemed fine in the beginning and James' level of play was as usual high but He (James) was talking a bit too much between and even during songs. Some songs seemed to be being rehearsed for the first time on stage in front of the onlookers which led to a feeling of disorganisation. The overall performance was dismal but the bring spark was the young drummer named Burnett that played along with James. He was also great on the drums.
