The exhibition, "Art & Science of Coral Reefs", has been organized by the Coastal Zone Management Unit, in support of the International Coral Reef Initiative which emphasizes the preservation of coral reefs and related ecosystems. From March 3-7, this fascinating exhibition will be showcasing art inspired by coral reefs and associated flora and fauna, as well as some of the scientific equipment used to assess the health of the ecosystems.
Contributing artistes include Bill Grace, Andrew Western, Craig Yearwood, Graeme Gill, Andre Miller, Onika Small, David Gill, Rachelle Grey, Melanie Springer and others.
2008 has been designated as the second International Year of the Reef, and the local exhibition is but one of many organized globally to improve public awareness about coral reefs, and the threats to their existence.
