Caribbean Telecommunications Union’s 6th Caribbean Ministerial Strategic Seminar

Themed: Forging ahead to a connected Caribbean, this event is a unique opportunity for translating ideas into meaningful action for a connected and integrated Caribbean.
The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) and collaborating institutions have put together a seminar aimed at developing a roadmap to guide the Caribbean region in its application of ICT for development and integration.
On October 2nd and 3rd 2008 at the Hilton, Barbados Caribbean governments, corporations, multilateral institutions, non-profit agencies, universities and ICT stakeholders from the Caribbean, the United States and Europe will engage in meaningful dialogue on the issue of Caribbean Transformation.
The objectives of the workshop include: presenting practical strategies for business development in the Information Age; discussing the regulatory imperatives, partnerships and alliances for a “Connected Caribbean”; prioritizing actions and establishing indicative schedules for accelerating Caribbean connectivity and transformation.
Featured guest speaker Dr. Vinton Cerf is regarded as the “Father of the Internet”. His work has shaped the underlying technology used to develop the Internet and has resulted in the creation of entire industries and the transformation of modern life. Dr. Cerf and a number of Caribbean-thought leaders will share the stage and facilitate dialogues at the meeting.
