'Emigration from Barbados'

Title of 1st Lecture: Gaining Ground
Speaker: Dr. Thomas Loftfield, Deputy Director of the BMHS
Dr. Loftfield will reveal the consequences of the onset of the sugar revolution in Barbados in the 1640s, eventually leading British yeomen in the island, to flee to better prospects, including settling colonies outside the Caribbean.

All lectures start at 7:30pm and will be held at Grande Salle, Tom Adams Financial Centre, Bridgetown, except the April 20th lecture, which will be held at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael.
