Concerts in Barbados

Concerts in Barbados are actually frequent occurrences.

Between the Barbados Jazz Festival, Gospelfest, Holder's Festival, Crop Over and all of our other festivals, there's always a reason to sing and dance. Not to mention all the concerts which are held for really no reason at all.

Concerts featuring local music like reggae and calypso happen just about every night of the week. But we also have, throughout the year, concerts with different genres of music featured from all over the globe.

In January we have our annual Jazz Festival, which draws jazz performers from not only Barbados but also all over the Caribbean and beyond. In 2005 we had international recording artist Alicia Keys grace our shores and perform for one night only.

Shortly after that Bryan Adams came from Canada to give a small concert on the beach, sponsored by a Canadian radio station.

For Mother's Day Michael Bolton was here and gave a one night only performance.

In 2006 we've had two major reggae concerts, one of which was an open-air concert at Farley Hill called "Reggae on the Hill" featuring international recording artist, Berris Hammond as well as others.

Crop Over draws multitudes of Calypsonians with new material for our biggest festival and they perform almost nightly getting the entire island and our visitors ready for the events that span July and run into August.

Local reggae, calypso, and even alternative bands perform nightly at various venues island wide.

We have already been lucky enough to have performances by Pavarotti, Earth Wind and Fire, Shaggy, and Sir Cliff Richard.

You just never know when another big star is going to land on our shores and grace us with a wonderful concert.
