The last two weeks of May celebrates the Celtic Festival, which was started by Ruth Palmer, who was originally from Wales but has made Barbados her home for the last 25 years.
It aims to celebrate everything Celtic from Welsh Choirs to Highland Games!
There is a Haggis Night, an International Night, and even a Rugby Tournament! It celebrates Celtic music such as bagpipes, Irish and Welsh clog dancing and singing along with the flavour of the Celts such as tartan kilts and haggis.
Performers from Wales, Scotland and Ireland all congregate in Barbados to take part in this event. There is a strong sporting feel to the festival with rugby, golf and the Highland Games.
The Rugby Tournament takes place at The Garrison Savannah, and the following day sees the Highland Games on Sandy Beach.
