The Holetown Festival

The Barbados Holetown Festival is held in February of each year on the west coast of Barbados in the parish of St. James.

Every year Holetown celebrates its history as settlers from England first landed there in 1627 along with their African slaves.

The week long event sees live orchestra's, dance performances, a beauty pageant, calypso steel bands, remembrance talks, an exhibition held in the Holetown Museum, bus tours, street parades and many stalls selling local art and craft, food and drinks.

This event is rich in culture celebrating both English and African heritage.

To get a real feel of Barbados, it's history and all the people living here, the Holetown Festival is a must visit attraction. During the weeklong event you will find lots to do and the carnival atmosphere is always a hit with the children.
