Barbados West Coast Nightlife

The west coast of Barbados has a multitude of nightlife, clubs and bars.

Speightstown has bars and restaurants and is fine during the day for a nice lunch but for nightlife you are better to head a bit further south down the west coast to Holetown.

Holetown is bustling with bars and restaurants on both First and Second Street, and if you visit the island in February you can enjoy the Holetown Festival, which commemorates the first settlers in Barbados. You will be treated to street parades, theatre and entertainment for an entire weeklong street party.

At the end of 2nd Street in Holetown is Lexy Piano Bar where there is a party going on most nights of the week, but their liveliest nights are on the weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Paulo's Churrasco do Brazil located at Bagatelle Great House is open for excellent food and renowned for it's extensive wine cellar, next door you will find Lord Willoughby's Tavern, an English style public house, which serves traditional pub grub and provides a late night venue for dancing and drinking in to the small hours.

There are also a number of rum shops dotted along the coastline; rum shops are a great way to meet the locals and to enjoy the national drink of rum! Scarlet's is also a nice bar; it is quite cosmopolitan and again stays open quite late.

If you are visiting the island in March, then you can enjoy a month of activities at Holders Great House as they open the grounds and stage plays, comedy, and musical performances. They bring acts in from London's West End and New York's Broadway to perform in the open air with champagne tents and a truly romantic setting.

Continuing south down the west coast will bring you in to Bridgetown the capital of Barbados. During the day you can have a great beach party at the Malibu Visitor Centre, where the cocktails flow, you can enjoy lunch and use of the facilities such as sun loungers and umbrella's.

Just further along the Spring Garden Highway, you will find the Mount Gay Rum factory, where you can tour the factory and get the full history of rum making in Barbados and then enjoy lunch, cocktails and have a look around the gift shop.
