The Olympic sport of Triathlon is made up of 1.5 Km of swimming, 40 Km of cycling, and 10 Km of running, done consecutively.
Barbados happens to provide a perfect setting for triathlon training and racing all year round. The Barbados Federation of Island Triathletes is the local governing body for triathlon, and typically hosts about 10 races per year, including one over the Olympic distance and several other shorter ones.
The annual Olympic distance National Triathlon Championship attracts athletes from the United Kingdom, Canada, Trinidad, Nevis, Grenada, just to name a few countries and is currently held every April.
