Bridgetown shopping

The capital city of Barbados is Bridgetown, which is the main shopping district on the south coast of Barbados.

It boasts the widest range of stores from local to international fare. Bridgetown literally has everything from Tiffany's to the typical street vendor, all encompassed in old English Colonial architecture.

The best time to head into Bridgetown is around 9am before the midday heat and after the morning rush hour traffic. There is a shuttle service for only US$3.00 per person from hotels on both the west and south coasts. This operates from Monday to Saturday, to and from Bridgetown.

Cave Shepherd shopping complex

The Vista shopping complex is one of many Cave Shepherd shops which offer duty free prices on an outstanding assortment of designer perfume and cosmetics, cameras and electronics, liquor and cigars, sportswear and beachwear, local music and quality souvenirs. You could save up to 44%!

Ground floor: There is a Victoria Secret which sells underwear, several designer perfume and makeup counters including Mac, jewellery counters, beach wear and camera equipment

Second floor: Clothes for men and women including a great assortment of shoes, books and toys.

Third floor: Sports-wear and household goods such as wine glasses and clocks. There is also a cafe on the third floor.

Harrisons

In Hastings Plaza there is a branch of Harrisons with a full range of duty free fragrances, giftware, designer clothing and leather goods.

Tiffany & Co

This high end jewellery store is located opposite Harrisons.

Columbian Emeralds and The Diamond Gallery

These are next to Tiffany & Co which means you can see a wide range of jewellery all in one street.

Collin's Pharmacy

There is a fairly large pharmacy next door to the jewellery stores in a beautiful classic building.

Diamonds International

Opposite the pharmacy and other jewellery stores is a Diamonds International offering you even more choice in necklaces, rings and the like.

Mademoiselle Shoes

This women's shoe store is located right next door to Diamonds International and Cave Shepherd.

The Royal Shop

Also situated in Bridgetown is The Royal Shop which sells high end watches including Rolex.

So whatever you are looking for, Bridgetown offers a wide choice of duty free shopping and lots of jewellery stores all on one street. When you have shopped 'till you've dropped pop into The Waterfront Café overlooking the Careenage river for a bite to eat. Most evenings the Café also offers live music.
