We spoke to Stephanie and Erwin who are currently on holiday here in Barbados from London, UK. Erwin was born in Barbados and loves nothing more than to return to his island home with girlfriend Stephanie who is on her 20th trip to the island.
They have holidayed in St, Lucia and St, Vincent but believe Barbados has the right mix of modernisation whilst maintaining its old world charm.
While here they usually stay in an apartment hotel, which suits them to catch up with family and friends.
They like to frequent Miami Beach, on the south coast of the island in the parish of Christ Church. They sometimes rent a car, but spend most of the time jumping on and off ZR vans as their chosen method of transport.
When it comes to bars - they do it the Bajan way and recommend that all visitors should try a rum shop or three! When it comes to dining they like to go upmarket and eat at Champers, and Pisces in St.Lawrence Gap both on the south coast.
When asked to compare food and drink prices they were pleased to say it was much cheaper than the UK!
Having been here many times before they say the best parts of the island are Bathsheba and Oistins.
For partying they have tried the Boatyard, Harbour Lights and The Ship Inn, all of which they say is a great night out.
As always the highlight of the trip is arriving, and feeling the warmth on their skin and letting the laid back island attitude soak in.
For a great experience they suggest a day out on a Catamaran - a great way to unwind!
And of course - they are already planning next years trip!
