Barbados is geographically quite a flat island and experiences all year round sunshine, which gives the perfect conditions for playing golf in Barbados.

Apes Hill Golf Club in Barbados is a World Class Golf and Polo Community with an emphasis on family lifestyle and nature. The championship golf course at Apes Hill Club officially opened on December 5th, 2009.

There is a 9-hole course at the Almond Beach Village, which gives unlimited access to hotel guests.

Another is located at Royal Westmoreland, which is again a condominium resort, with apartments and villas within the complex. This 18-hole course is one of the most prestigious in Barbados and the use of the course is limited to members, residents of the Royal Westmoreland resort and selected hotel guests.

Located at the five-diamond Sandy Lane Resort you will find 3 golf courses.

Firstly there is The Old Nine Course, which was constructed in 1961 as a 9-hole course that winds its way around the Sandy Lane Estate.

Then there is an 18-hole course at the Sandy Lane Golf and Country Club, which incorporates five lakes and is renowned as one of the most picturesque golf courses in the world.

And then finally there is the Green Monkey golf course, which is 18 holes and 7,343-yards in distance. The course was designed by Tom Fazio and is rated as a must play course among professional golfers.

Tiger Woods decided on Sandy Lane as the venue for his wedding in 2004 and these courses have played host to the World Golf Cup Championships in 2006 as well as being approved by the PGA European Tour. They have also hosted the Barbados Open Golf Tournaments on a number of occasions.

On the south coast, you will find the Barbados Golf Club, located at Durants in the parish of Christ Church. This is an 18-hole golf course and is open to locals and visitors. Green fees are reasonably priced and it is a very pleasant course to play.

Also located in the parish of Christ Church on the south coast of Barbados is Rockley Golf and Country Club, which is located within the condominium resort of Rockley. This is only a 9-hole course, however, you can play twice if you want an 18-hole game.
