Silver Rock beach is located on the south coast of the island, in the parish of Christ Church. The beach is beautiful, with high sandbanks. The water here is safe for swimming, but there are no lifeguards on duty so take care. This coast is susceptible to strong currents, depending on the time of year.

Things to Do

This beach is renowned for water sports and has been the home of Brian Talma for many years; his windsurfing shop has recently closed down as it was housed within the Silver Rock Hotel complex. This is currently being converted into condominiums, and so the beach is a lot quieter than normal.

However, it is still a favorite with wind and kite surfers. There are no beach chairs to rent with the hotel closed and no amenities directly on the beach. Three is a rum shop close by called London Bar, which sells drinks, and at the north end of the beach, just above the hotel, you will find a set of stairs that takes you up to the road. Here is a reasonably priced restaurant called Round Rock.

There is a floodlit sports field, where you can watch a local football game or cricket on an evening. There are showers and toilets for public use. There is a playground for children, and picnic tables line the beach under the trees. The area is well shaded and perfect for a picnic.
