Barbadians love a good laugh and are renown the world over for their witty sense of humour. It is not surprising therefore that Barbados offers comedy shows staged at varying times throughout the year.
‘Pampalam’ and ‘Laugh It Off’ are two of the most popular theatre events in Barbados. Often based on gossip, colourful local characters and social/political events – great emphasis is placed on the playful use of the Bajan dialect to entertain the audience.
Comedians such as Mac Fingal and Trevor Eastmond are frequently seen at events surrounding Crop Over and often act as the MC’s for some of the Calypso Tents.
