The Crane offers two categories of accommodation: the Historic Hotel (since 1887) and the Private Residences. Together the two areas make up the resort's current total of 202 rooms.

Taking advantage of the natural landscape, the new development at The Crane features sweeping views of the ocean.  The new Crane suites also feature key elements taken from the original resort, including coral stone walls, 11 ft. high timber tray ceilings, natural timber doors and windows, and traditional colonial furniture, including traditionally high, king size four-poster beds.  

While The Crane remains steeped in Barbadian history, the property also offers 21st century conveniences and amenities.  Ground floor suites feature "infinity edge" private pools, while many residences on the upper floors feature individual plunge pools.  Crane suites also feature over sized Jacuzzi baths, spa showers with multiple shower heads, DVD players and in-room Internet access.  The resort also offers wireless Internet access in the lobby and around the renowned main pool.

The rooms and suites of the historic resort -- inspiration for the new development -- are each unique in design and location, all with authentic antique furnishings.  Many feature original coral stone walls, spectacular views, and elegant canopy or four-poster beds.  Once part of a private mansion built in 1790, this part of the resort was first expanded and established as a hotel in 1887 and was recently fully restored.

The Crane caters to a variety of clientele, for business or leisure, and is particularly well suited to intimate weddings & honeymoons.  Wedding, romance and honeymoon packages are available year-round.

The resort features two top Zagat-rated restaurants, including Zen, named for "Top Food" in the 2009 Zagat Survey, and L'Azure Restaurant, which earned top ratings for views, buffets and its renowned Gospel Breakfast.  

L'Azure Restaurant, famous for its seafood and breathtaking ocean view, features a selection of local and regional cuisine.  Casual during the day for breakfast and lunch, dinner is a romantic experience by candlelight.  Sundays, the resort offers its well-established tradition of Gospel Breakfast and Barbadian buffet lunch.  

Zen Restaurant, featuring classic Thai and Japanese cuisine, offers an authentic experience with its Asian-inspired architecture and spectacular décor complete with an all-glass frontage to the sea.  Guests can enjoy their meal at the 12-person sushi bar in the company of the chefs, or in intimate Tatami rooms for two or four.  Zen is open for dinner nightly except Tuesdays and offers lunch from Wednesday through Friday.  

The newly created Crane Village offers duty-free shopping with renowned brands Cave Shepherd and Colombian Emeralds, along with a convenience store with sundries, snacks and beverages.  Additional shops, including an art gallery, craft store and boutique; along with two additional dining options, will open on a phased basis through late 2009.

For fitness buffs, The Crane offers a small gym with several machines; and for the connected, there is complimentary wireless access available by the main pool and guest lounge area, high-speed access in-room, and two Internet stations.  Two lit tennis courts are available for either night or daytime play.

I have been there twice now, and I dont ever want to go anywhere else.
I have just scraped together enough money, to buy a week timeshare, so hopefully I can continue to enjoy this beautiful place for a few more years yet.

We were at the Crane resort last year for the first time. And, what a great experience it was. The property, the rooms, the grounds, the staff, the food, the scenery, the beach is ALL #1. I am very particular and have high standards. The Crane resort met and exceeded my expectations of such a property. We loved it so much, we are returning this year again for another fab visit. Can't wait to see all the new shops. There's still a lot of construction and will be for years to come, but it's for the better. #1 for my taste.
