No Ordinary Pottery!

Earthworks Pottery Barbados is a second-generation, family-run studio of 20, of which 12 are potters. Open Mondays to Fridays 9-5 and Saturdays 9-1 admission and your invitation to see us working and to meet master Bajan potters is absolutely free. Functional dinnerware, serving pieces, mugs, jugs, and all sorts of everything are available off the shelf in a very large display area that adjoins the extensive workshop. It’s an interesting place to visit, an excellent place to collect dishwasher-proof, food safe, locally made pottery that will last a lifetime and recall a wonderful holiday. Custom orders are also possible which can be shipped to your home upon completion

Earthworks is an open pottery studio, making functional hand-decorated dinnerware and all kinds of red clay ceramic pieces. You can walk in and see experienced Bajan potters crafting their work.

Earthworks’ regular production includes more than 100 shapes in 24 design patterns. Our range is continually changing and expanding, but if you have collected a design that is no longer “in stock,” we will be glad to create it in a specific order at no extra cost.

Our Pottery Products are:

— Microwave safe
— Dishwasher safe
— Lead-free and food safe

History – Who would have thought?

Who would have thought that a small art studio doing ‘one-off‘ whimsical clay works would grow into thriving production pottery with a worldwide reputation for quality and innovative design? But this continues to be what makes Earthworks – “No Ordinary Pottery!” We produce fully functional lines of dinnerware and serving pieces, mainly in over 150 shapes and 36 patterns.

Entry to Earthworks studio is free of charge.

When visiting Barbados, seeing Earthworks is perhaps the best value entertainment that one can undertake to enjoy.

Our reward is the knowledge that our product will woo you and tempt you to buy at least a piece or two.

Whether it is a simple trinket or small gift(s) for a very reasonable cost or perhaps a dinner service to be shipped, Earthworks makes some of the most exceptional quality, attractive, and functional art in the Caribbean.

Next door, in our Potter’s House, at On The Wall Gallery, the best of Barbados’ art is available. The Treehouse Cafe at Earthworks enjoys an open verandah overlooking the valley, next to the bamboo, where you can chill out and eat while you want the cool breeze.

At the Batik Studio, you can find handmade batiks. The Ins and Outs Gift Emporium adds yet another locally produced range of foods, condiments, linens, soaps, beautiful crafts, and more. Please feel welcome to visit us when you are in Barbados.
