Because Your Health Matters …

BayView Hospital is a privately owned and operated healthcare facility in Barbados.

Established in 1989, BayView Hospital has been recognised as one of the leading private hospitals in the Caribbean region.

The hospital is located in the parish of St. Michael, just on the outskirts of Barbados’ capital of Bridgetown. It is conveniently situated in close proximity to many of the island’s leading hotels, is just two miles from the Bridgetown port, and an easy twenty minute drive from the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA).

Your ‘Home Away From Home’

BayView’s small size allows for a unique blend of personalized patient care alongside high quality accommodation, all in a ‘homely’ and intimate atmosphere.

In fact, this is emphasised and reflected in their Vision Statement: “We provide optimum care to all of our patients in our comfortable home away from home setting.

Patients can choose between private or shared room accommodation:

— The private rooms are each equipped with vanity, en suite bathroom, telephone, and cable television.

— The shared rooms are spacious and designed as four bed units with a shared bathroom.

Note: All rooms are fitted with ceiling fans and air-conditioning units.

The furnishings and decor of rooms have been chosen to provide that home away from home atmosphere, which is the essence of patient care at BayView.

Services And Specialities

Despite their small size, BayView offers medical care in a number of fields including (but not limited to):

— ENT Surgery
— Reconstructive Surgery
— Urologic Surgery
— Neurology
— Orthopaedic Surgery
— Dentistry

The hospital also caters for:

— Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery
— Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
— Family Medicine
— Obstetrics and Gynaecology

BayView has a High Dependency Unit for those patients who need special, one-on-one attention. Highly trained nurses will not only look after the patient’s needs, but also provide a caring shoulder and sympathetic ear for family members.

There are also three operating theatres and a purpose-built Day Unit which accommodates six patients. In this Unit, patients for day surgery are managed throughout the entire hospital process, from their admission to their discharge. Because BayView offers day surgery in a number of specialities, this is a particularly busy unit of the hospital, but a much needed one.

Did you know? It is worth noting that BayView has delivered over 5000 healthy babies during its time in operation, with their highly experienced team of professionals always on hand to provide support and care to both mothers to be as well as new mothers.

Hint: Lemaze classes are also offered at BayView Hospital by a highly trained midwife.

In keeping in line with their home away from home philosophy, BayView also offers all kinds of personalised spiritual services to people from all faiths, if required.

BayView also has an in-house pharmacy which is responsible for the purchasing and dispensing of all drugs used in the hospital. The hospital pharmacist is on hand to provide any additional pharmaceutical information which may be required by hospital staff and patients.

There is also free wi-fi and free parking for both patients and visitors.
