Barbados Beach Cottages

If you want the independence of self-catering and are traveling in a group, then a great option is to rent a beach cottage.

You have the beauty of your location to enjoy a morning dip in the ocean, along with an economical price.

You can rent a beach cottage that sleeps between 4-6 people for as little as $100US per day, meaning a cost of only $25US per person, which is an exceptional value.

The majority of beach cottages come with double bedrooms, which sleep two people, two bathrooms, lounge/dining area, fully fitted kitchens with all equipment such as washing machine, tumble dryer, and fridge freezer. You can enjoy gardens and patio’s, not to mention the ‘on your doorstep’ white powdery beaches and turquoise sea!

Air-conditioning, iron, hairdryer, and linens and a weekly maid service are all included in the price.

The other side of a beach cottage is that you will not get a swimming pool nor the company of other tourists as you would in a hotel. However, the plus-side is that you can swim in the ocean and have a great holiday with your friends for the company.

Beach cottages are available to rent all over Barbados on each coast, if you choose the west coast, the water here is very calm, and you can enjoy 8 miles of the gold coast. However, this is quieter for things to do in the evening. There are plenty of restaurants on the west coast and is ideal if you just want to relax.

If you choose the south coast, the water is rougher but ideal for water sports and has the bonus of a bustling nightlife, a choice of supermarkets, and some excellent restaurants.

There are also some very quaint beach cottages to rent on the east coast, this side of the island is not ideal for swimming but is suitable if you like to surf, as you will find the surfing at ‘Soup Bowl’ in Bathsheba one of the best spots in the world. Here the International Pro Surfing Competition is held in November.

The east coast has a dramatic beauty, and if you are looking for total relaxation, peace, and quiet, then this coast is the one for you.
