Barbados Accommodation

It would be best if you had comfortable accommodation that suits your needs. When planning a getaway vacation rental and holiday in Barbados, the most critical element is where you will stay.

We have divided places to stay into types of Barbados accommodation, such as:

COVID-19 – Coronavirus

For COVID-19 – Coronavirus information, click here. With the uncertainty of COVID conditions worldwide, most accommodation companies offer free cancellation.

Accommodation Locations

Our island is made up of 11 parishes. We help you make the most suitable choice, as we have information on each parish and some widespread areas.

Barbados is renowned throughout the world as a luxury destination. With paradise on your doorstep, it doesn’t matter where you stay or how much you spend. The beach view is always complimentary, with beachfront accommodation and ocean views throughout the island.

In our accommodation guide, you will learn what Barbados offers – from the underlying economy to the super luxurious. You can decide which would be best for you and your family.

Check-In Times

Check-in times vary from hotel, apartment, or location. Typically check-out times begin at noon, and check-in times start at 3 pm. Depending on room availability, be sure to ask for the most suitable time for your arrival, and I’m sure most places would do their best to accommodate an early check-in or a late check-out.

Luxury Hotels

If you want to stay in a luxury hotel, Barbados boasts some of the best 5-star hotels in the world. Sandy Lane Hotel is one of the top luxurious hotels on the Golden Coast of St. James, and The Crane Resort is a fantastic play to stay in St. Philip.

Small Hotels

Barbados’ small hotels are significant in the island’s tourism room stock. Barbados has it whether you are looking for a budget hotel or a more luxurious boutique hotel. While more unique properties depend on their international star and diamond ratings, smaller hotels rely on their affordability, intimacy, and personalized service—examples are Dover Beach Hotel and the Yellow Bird Hotel.

All-Inclusive Hotels

All-inclusive Barbados resorts allow you to pay one fee for your stay, including your room, food, beverages, and maybe even some fun activities. This accommodation method is ideal if you have a specific budget, as the cost is paid upfront, and there are usually no additional expenses.

Or you may prefer a hotel on a half-board basis, which would include a bed, breakfast, and evening meal.

You can also choose a bed and breakfast and have your other meals on-site or at one of the many restaurants on the island. These options are available at various hotels ranging from 3 to 5 stars. Examples: Bougainvillea Beach Resort.

Condominiums

Condominium rentals are quite popular because a condo gives you that home away from home feel. Most condos have kitchens and laundry facilities, allowing you to cook your meals and do your laundry while enjoying the other on-site comforts and conveniences. Condominiums can be either self-catered or staffed.

Villas

For years Barbados has been the playground of the rich and famous, with many luxury villas tucked away from the prying eyes of the public, located in Holetown, St. James, inland, or on the west coast.

A villa can be self-catered or have a full-staff complement for your holiday rentals and is suitable for individuals, families, or groups.

You would typically get access to master bedrooms with En Suite, living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchens at a villa accommodation. You can benefit from the privacy of your swimming pool and private chef, and it is an ideal and sometimes cheaper choice for larger groups to relax.

Apartments

You may wish for self-catering independence but are not looking for all the frills of a villa or condo. Most apartments have a kitchenette, stove, fridge, toaster, coffee pot, and tea kettle.

If this is the case, then maybe you should rent an apartment. Many come with private swimming pools for residents only, allowing you to come and go as you, please.

They range in price, and some beautiful places are very affordable.

Some apartments may be direct across the road from the beach and be a minute’s walk or even a 5-minute walking distance.

Guesthouses

If this is your first time on the island, you may wish to stay in a guest house or holiday home, which is a cost-effective way to see the island. It also gives peace of mind knowing that you have a local person as your guide to advise you on the best places to go and the best way to get there.

You will probably enjoy your stay so much that guesthouses will be your accommodation choice for years – for example, Maresol Barbados Apartments.

Beach Cottages

You can find Beach cottages and houses on the island’s south, east and west coasts. Imagine waking up every morning to the sound of the Atlantic Ocean’s crashing waves or the gently rolling waves of the Caribbean Sea. A beach house or cottage is usually self-catered and excellent for families or groups, such as Miami Beach (or Enterprise Beach) and Carlisle Bay.

Family Owned Apartments

Another option is actually to reside with a Barbadian family. Visitors traveling alone can benefit from this, as, again, you have an on-hand guide, and it is a unique way to experience the island through the eyes of a local.

Many property owners rent out unique homes, experiences, and places to stay using Airbnb.

The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association

The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association is a not-for-profit private sector trade association and one of Barbados’s most significant non-governmental associations. We exist to serve the interests of our diverse membership of over 300 tourism and non-tourism entities, both local and international.

Our primary goal is to facilitate the sustainable growth and development of our local tourism sector to benefit our members, our country, and the people of Barbados.
