We have outlined what each of these types of accommodation can offer you from basic economy options through to the super luxurious and then you can decide which would be best for you and your family.
Barbados is renowned throughout the world as luxury destination and with paradise on your doorstep wherever you stay, it really doesn't matter how much you spend, the view is always free.
So have a read through the various options and decide which option is best going to suit your requirements.
Maybe you want to stay in a hotel; Barbados boasts some of the best 5 star hotels in the world, where your every whim is catered for with valet parking, in room massage, on the beach massage, waiter service round the pool, hair and beauty salon, laundry service, and exquisite cuisine.
You can choose an all-inclusive Barbados resort, where you pay one fee for the accommodation and this includes all your food and drink. This can be ideal when you have children who all want to eat different meals at different times.
Or maybe you prefer not to be tied to one place and would prefer your hotel on a half board basis, which would include bed, breakfast and evening meal. Or you can choose just bed and breakfast and pay for your meals either on the complex or at one of the many restaurants on the island. All of these options are available at various hotels ranging from 3 star to 5 star.
A fast growing area in Barbados is that of Condominium rentals, which gives you the flexibility of being in your own luxurious space whilst enjoying the company of other holidaymakers within the complex. This can be a great option when you want luxury but also feel the need to do things at your own pace and can therefore be self-catering or staffed.
For years Barbados has been the playground of the rich and famous, therefore there are many luxury villas tucked away from the prying eyes of the media. Again a villa gives you luxury accommodation with the independence of self-catering, or come fully staffed. Here you benefit from the privacy of your own swimming pool and is an ideal choice for larger groups to relax.
You may wish to have the independence of self catering but are not looking for all the frills of a villa or condo, if this is the case then maybe you should look to rent an apartment; many come with private swimming pools for residents only and allows you to come and go as you please. They range in price and there are some really nice places at very affordable prices.
If this is your first time in Barbados, then you may wish to stay in a guesthouse, this is not only a cost effective way to see the island but it also gives peace of mind to know that you have a local on hand to advise on the best places to go but also the best way to get there. You will probably enjoy your stay so much that guesthouses will be your choice of accommodation for years to come!
Another option is to actually stay with a Barbadian family, this can be ideal for persons traveling alone as again you have an on hand guide, and it is a unique experience to see the laid back Caribbean way first hand.
