Sweden moves into lead on third day of the 2006 World Golf Championships Barbados World Cup

On a beautiful bright and sunny day in Barbados, Sweden took the lead after the third days play in the 2006 World Golf Championships – Barbados World Cup.

The pair of Carl Pettersson and Henrik Stenson of Sweden, playing Four-ball (better ball), took a one stroke lead over Cabera and Andres Romera, representing Argentina, at the sixteenth hole, when they went sixteen under par, and maintained that lead to the eighteenth.

The pair of Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren, of Scotland, are two strokes back, thanks to some very accurate playing by Montgomerie, who shot four consecutive birdies at 12, 13,14, and 15, moving them into third position.

The United States pair of Stewart Sink and J J Henry, came alive today, and shot a low 63, to move into fourth place, on eleven under par, tied with Spain, South Africa, Germany, Italy, and the defending champions Wales, who shot 62, the low round of the day.

Australia is nine under, while England and Ireland are seven under.

Canada, Colombia and Switzerland, finished on six under par.

France and South Korea, are five under par.

Trinidad & Tobago is three under.

Singapore, and Denmark are two under, while Japan, and Jamaica are two over, and the Barbados team is three over.

Going into the final day tomorrow, at least eleven teams are still in the hunt, and they will be going all out trying to get the major share of the US$4 million purse, along with the John Hopkins Trophy.
