The beach here is a lovely quiet little bay. The water is calmer in this bay than nearby Silver Sands so makes a nice place for swimming.
Things to Do
All water sports participants know this beach as “Rescue Beach”, due to the currents, if a windsurfer or kite surfer loses their equipment further up the coast at Long Beach, Silver Rock or Silver Sands, this is where the current will wash it up.
It is ideal for romantic picnics especially at full moon.
More often than not you will be the only person on this beach, so a beautiful setting all to yourself!
Ideal for picnics
From Oistins heading away from Bridgetown, the road comes to a fork, take the right turn and head up towards Silver Sands area. You will reach an oval shaped roundabout, turn right and follow the road all the way, past a green shop, branded with Stag beer, keep going straight, you will come to a church on the corner, go down the side of the church, when you reach the bottom of this hill you will see Silver Sands Hotel on your left, take the right hand turn and follow all the way to end until you come to Surfer’s Bay beach bar.
