Oistins beach is lined with picnic tables with an array of rum shops and food stalls to stop for a break and take in everyday life with the fisherman.

Things to Do

Most evenings the fishermen light a bonfire on the beach where you can sample some of the days catch. This is a very informal affair and the fishermen do not charge for you to try the fish. They are all busy discussing the days fishing over a game of dominoes and a few beers.

Oistins is very much a community and the fisherman welcome tourists to get involved.

The fishing community, mainly use the Beach here for everyday fishing business. There are many fishing boats bobbing in the calm water. You can swim here; you just need to mind the boats. There is no lifeguard on duty.
