Not only is there great diving and excellent waves for wind and kite surfing, but there’s also a bustling nightlife, great restaurants, and a broad range of accommodation styles for you to choose from.
Because Dover is located within a tourist hub, you’ll be close to amenities like convenience stores, tour operators, water sports activities, and souvenir shopping, just to name a few.

Dover Beach – A Smorgasbord Of Activities
Dover Beach, in Dover, is conveniently located in the middle of all the action of the infamous St. Lawrence Gap (‘the Gap’). The Gap is one of the island’s most renowned nightlife hot spots for both locals and visitors alike.
Because of the high density of restaurants and accommodation available in this area, Dover Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the south coast.
Popular for sunbaking (there’s plenty of shoreline), swimming (the waters are fairly calm), and water sports like windsurfing and jetskiing, this action-packed beach also has local vendors selling art and craft, beach volleyball, a children’s play park, beach chair and umbrella rentals, and so much more.
It’s worth noting that at Dover Beach there’s also a lifeguard is on duty, shower and toilet facilities, as well as a little shopping village selling souvenirs, beach essentials, drinks and snacks.
The beach is opposite a large pasture, Dover playing field, so why not take in a local cricket or football match while you’re there and really get a taste of life on the island?
Caution: Watch out for the Manchineel Tree and its fruits, especially when it’s raining as liquid from the tree is poisonous and causes blistering of the skin.
The tree has green shiny leaves and the fruit is small and apple-shaped -these trees are usually marked by a red band.
